2026 UN Night - A Celebration of Culture & Connection
Indro High is currently home to 92 rich and diverse cultures, and in 2026 we’re dreaming big. On 19 June 2026, the P&C - together with the school - hopes to bring our community together for UN Night, an outdoor evening of food, music, activities and cultural celebration. Building on the energy of the students’ UN Day, from 3pm to 8pm, this event will open the gates to families, alumni and the wider community, inviting everyone to reconnect with the school and celebrate the diversity that makes Indro High so special.
Communities that come together are stronger together, and Indro High is a place where graduates and families are welcome. If UN Night takes shape, we see it becoming an annual tradition - a night where students, families, alumni and neighbours gather to celebrate culture, connection and pride in our school.
We need 4 organiser roles filled!
To make this vision a reality, we need 4 more organiser roles filled. Following the success of the 70th Anniversary event in 2024, we know these are important roles and we can't do without them. With some of our original organisers no longer able to continue, we’re calling on our community to step in. We need volunteers to fill the following roles:
1) Stage Manager - we're planning to hire a big outdoor stage (with professional lighting and audio technicians) to showcase our community's cultural strengths from 1pm to 5pm, and to host a Battle of the Bands from 5pm to 8pm. This role co-ordinates the performers, and works with the MCs to keep the flow of performances running smoothly.
2) Logistics Manager - if you are a great forward planner this is the role for you! We know what we need for the lighting, generators, stage hire, toilets, refrigeration, tables, chairs, recycling, first aid officers, etc. And we need this reliable manager to make the arrangements and oversee the implementation. Attention to detail is key to this role.
3) Activities Manager - around the oval, we plan to have tents housing Henna artists, origami and other cultural activities. We have multiple families raising their hand to host stalls that reflect their cultural background and we have ideas for securing some more activities to keep the cultural connections growing. All stall holders need a key contact, and that would be you.
4) Volunteers Manager - we have had a lot of people tell us they are able to fill a shift on the day of the event. We have the software and the distribution channels for volunteer rostering that we can hand over to you, and we need you to drive it. Help us match helpers with roles required to be filled.
These four roles have been previously covered by 2 people, however, as the school continues to grow, we think it makes sense to split the roles into smaller parts for the future.
To complete the organising team, we already have experience around you from the 70th Anniversary event in 2024, and we have a Finance Manager, Food Manager, and a year 7 parent has just raised their hand for the Communications & Promotions Manager role.
If you’re passionate about community, culture and creating a new tradition for Indro High, we’d love to hear from you before our mid-February scoping decision.
